Appetizer

This is a picture of what I did with figs yesterday, but the recipe below is nicer. I did not have the ingredients.

Fichi Antipasto

10 to 12 figs

Gorgonzola cheese

honey

prosciutto crudo

olive oil

Wash and cut an X into the top of the figs. Push up gently from the bottom to expose the pulp. Add one small teaspoon of Gorgonzola cheese into the center of each fig and follow with a drop of honey. Place prosciutto crudo onto a small platter and surround with figs. Drizzle with olive oil.

We used some delish honey given to me at the Vasari Winery. It is biological honey.

To the gal that asked about ricotta al forno. I am going to check around and ask how they do it here...if they do it. It is probably cheaper to buy. But keep checking back.

Was just talking about this recipe on Saturday. Forgot that you used the gorgonzola cheese, thought it was goat cheese. Anyway, the women were all swooning over fresh figs. I'm back in memory land!! Love,C-co

That looks good!

Miele di limone? Hmmm... I wonder how that works!

Thanks for the recipe. A friend gave me a bag full of figs two days ago and I wasn't sure what to do with them.
