We have a new man in town. He seemed to appear out of no where. He is Santo Padre Pio. He was canonized in 2002. Padre Pio is extremely popular in all of Italy. He is located at the entrance of the town and I suspect he is a welcome sight to those coming into town.

Ah yes, Padre Pio. I have a special fondness for him as he looks just like my father!!! (minus the stigmata, of course)
We have one in our town too. (What southern Italian town would be complete without one? As you mention, he's everywhere!) He's in a shady little piazza where the elderly men like to congregate.
