About 12 years ago I planted some bulbs in a large container and placed it on our balcony. The packet said these were *surprise lilies*. This year we did get lots of surprises. They have blossomed about 10 times, perhaps more. So weather too hot...too much rain...global warming? It was just right for these beauties.

Wow! Those are beautiful! :)
I wish I had a green thumb... I even struggled to keep my pet cactus alive! (and lost) but I love plants!
Lovely surprises.
I love those! I never saw such pretty lillies.
My attitude toward my yarden has changed this year, as now I realize there will always be surprises. Things I thought dead, long gone, or never even took, suddenly appear and often bring friends. I don't know if small animals and birds are planting things, or if some of the hundreds of seeds I've planted over the last 4 years are finally growing. (???)
I am glad for your wonderful surprise.
pleasant surprise indeed! beautiful! i wish i could just get MY plants to grow (that would be a REAL surprise...or perhaps miracle is a better word :))
