Friday Feature

Welcome to Donna Rosa restaurant and pizzeria. This restaurant is located in the heart of Oliveri on the main street. It is a family owned and operated business. You can stop in for an espresso and panini or dolce, have lunch or dinner in the spacious dinning room or order take out.

Donna Rosa is a favorite not only for the local paesani but for returning tourists each summer. It is a place where *everybody knows your name*. English is spoken here. Check out the picture with the American flag on the wall. Carmelo and his wife lived in the USA for a time and worked in the restaurant business. They returned to Oliveri to raise their family and opened this business, which has grown every year.

In the summer the doors of the dining room open on either side to reveal two under the stars dining rooms in a garden setting. I like the dining space in the winter which is warmed by the pizza oven and creates an intimate setting.

Pizza is a speciality and it is sometimes served in the shape of a heart and is always cooked in a wood burning oven.

Hello Sharon, thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. I've enjoyed reading your post on Donna Rosa's restaurant. Heart shaped pizza :) Perfect for Valentine's (do they celebrate that in Italy?).
