Legal

All it took was going thru steps and up the steps to gather documents and then bring them to the Questura to renew my SOGGIORNO certificate. We had an appointment at 9AM and finished by 9.30AM with temporary document in hand. This one will be for an indefinite period. So, I don't think I shall be visiting this office for awhile. The clerk suggested I apply for dual citizenship. I have been thinking about this and I may just proceed with the process as soon as I get the permanent document of SOGGIORNO in my hands. It will be another round of securing documents and forms. Everyone was professional and treated me with respect and calm. I have heard horror stories about these offices but thus far, I haven't had a bad experience.

Tanti auguri Sharon. Maybe things are easier in Sicilia.

Keep a diary, I'll need all the info when my turn comes. Right now I'm having my documents translated. Thanx

Lucky you! We never get a "real" soggiorno here in Sigonella, just a letter saying we applied for one. People have carried around those letters literally for decades!

Sharon,
Hi. To answer your question, I boil water, throw the asparagus in until tender but still bright green (only a minute or two) then I throw them in ice water to "shock". Thanksgiving was at my sons house. We had the traditional American turkey and fixings. But dessert was mine..pizzelles, panattone, assorted biscotti, and a big cookie tray wrapped in cellophane and a big bow! haha
How about you?

Nice to have found a fellow Sicilian! I live just south of you, in the province of Catania. I, too, have been thinking about applying for my dual citizenship. For the moment, I am getting up the nerve. I’m in no rush to deal with all the documents…
