Friday Feature

Work has started on the set for the live Nativity Scene that will take place on December 20. This is a yearly event put on by the folks that run and those that live in the Villa Gaia, a rehabilitation residence. In years past it was set up on a thru street but property has been allocated for this event this year.

I hope to take photos after the 20th to show the finished village and the live scene.

Hi, Sharon!

I will not be in Sicily for Christmas this year. I will miss all of this.

We will not be able to make it to Oliveri for Christmas this year. Thank you for giving us a look into the customs and festivites of our adopted home. You have made this a special time of year.

Thank you

I can't wait to see your photos of the finished scene.
(Yes, traditionally, on Thanksgiving, as with Christmas, we have the antipasti, a soup, a pasta dish, then the meatballs, sausage, braciole with a salad..then the roast and all the sides, then fruits and nuts, pastry and assorted desserts, espresso haha. You are right. It's an awful lot of food, but we learn as kids how to sit through all of this!)

I am looking forward to seeing the live nativity. If you can, could you post a video?

It is going to be very pretty, judging by the lovely photos.
